Christmas Day

This was Trey's face as he came downstairs Christmas morning to see all the presents!

Jackson was not terribly into opening presents, but his favorite gift was this toy that he whacks a hammer on the balls. Should've known he would love to whack on something!

Trey's favorite toy was this Cars Racetrack. He played with it most of the day with his new cars.
Trey and Jackson got new pajamas from my friend, Tara, for Christmas and they looked adorable.

This is Jackson. He is just cute. Need I say more?

Pre-Christmas

It's hard to tell, but this is our beautiful newly tiled kitchen (laundry room and bathroom as well) with all new matching appliances! My brother, Steven, has been staying with us for about a month and he and Erik did a wonderful job on the kitchen! I love it so much.

We had a countdown to christmas with hershey's kisses that the kids got to have each morning. One was not enough for Jackson, so he pulled some tongs out of the kitchen drawer and tried to yank more down! Pretty smart, or as Steven said, "Jess! He's smarter than a monkey!"

Jackson and Trey by the tree.

This was the pumpkin carving that turned out to be pretty good. Trey showed Erik on his face the scary look that the pumpkin should have and they were both pleased. Trey didn't like getting the seeds and slime out though.

We went to a halloween party at a park on friday morning put on by the community. It was fun but very packed with people so we didn't stay real long. Jackson had to be corraled in his stroller finally and he is holding the bribe of a cookie so he wouldn't scream about being confined. His costume has a very cute hood (the pumpkin's stem) but he would not leave it on!

At left: Jackson loves to climb and be outdoors so he was having tons of fun at the park the other day.

At right: Trey was a ghost and Jackson was a pumpkin this year. Trey picked out his costume (he wanted to be something scary) and Jackson was a pumpkin by default because his body is shaped like one and because we already had Trey's old costume! Trey's costume also has a hood and mask but he wouldn't leave those on either.

Devin, Trey, and Lexi (Patti & Jeff Kimmel's 5 year old twins) went trick or treating together (Jackson did for a little while as well.) They had so much fun and scored LOTS of candy! I love Devin checking out his "six-pack" and Lexi with such an angelic face in her witch costume!

Here is the latest pregnancy photo. I am now 28 weeks (3rd trimester! Woo-hoo!) and am feeling good and looking big. (or you can say feeling big and looking good- I won't stop you!)

Third time is ridiculous

So, even the second picture is a little dated now (I am currently 23 weeks pregnant) but here is a comparison of my first vs third pregnancies. I am 20 weeks pregnant with Trey in the first one and 20 weeks with this baby in the second. I guess I was young and tight (don't laugh) back then, but the body seems to remember how to do this and I get big quick nowadays! Try not to notice that I also have 4 more years of wrinkles!

It's. . . wait for it. . . a boy!!!

So, this ultrasound on 9/9/08 definitely did not look like a girl! We are having another wonderful boy (as Trey has said all along- it will be a boy named Bubba, he says.) We are excited and hope that they love each other as much as Trey and Jackson seem to.

Jackson and Trey cuddling in the morning watching cartoons- very cute!!!

Above, Erik at top of slide, Jackson and Trey on their way down. Pretty fun.
At left, Jackson, friend Olivia, and Trey having fun together. They were covered head to toe with sand from the sandbox.
Latest Trey'isms':
I was properly gushing to Trey one morning about how proud I was of him to have dry underwear for several mornings in a row. He said, "Mama, it's been my pleasure!"
We passed by a restaurant called "Panda Express" and Trey asked what it was. Erik said that it was oriental food. I said that I think it is now called Asian food. Trey chimed in with, "I think they call it Asian-American food now, Mama." It cracked us up!

Here is a picture of Trey on his first day of preschool! He was so excited and really loved it. He is just going 2 days per week but I think it will be good for all of us.

Much Ado About Something

We have had a lot going on in the last 6 weeks or so. My mom came to watch the boys so that Erik and I could go to Dallas for the weekend to be a part of my friend, Tara's, wedding. (It was the first time in over 2 years that he and I were away together without kids!!!) We had fun with mom- especially the boys- which pleased me since she and my dad will be gone for the next 18 months on a mission to India for the mormon church.

Here is a picture of Courtney, Summer (other bridesmaids), me and Tara getting our manicures and pedicures for the wedding.
After working for a week, Erik, the boys and I took off (DRIVING!!!) on a 2 week trip to Michigan. We saw lots of family and friends (including 10 of the boys' cousins.) Trey especially had a ball and was so confused about what he wanted. He missed home but did not want to leave his cousins at all. He especially misses my niece, Savannah, who is 11 and watched him quite a bit so we could have fun as adults too! Wish we had her around!

This is a picture of Trey and Erik on Gary Wilkie's boat. It was Trey's first boat ride ever and he LOVED it! He drove the boat fearlessly and has been talking about it ever since.

I love this picture because the look is so Jackson. He has that little smirk like he knows more than we do all the time.

A few weeks ago, all the Dosdalls got together at Bear Lake, Utah. It was great to see everyone, although the trip was rather stressful on us with two little kids. Both kids ended up with colds (that lasted almost 2 weeks) and stomach viruses (lasting about 10 days.) Jackson nearly fell down a flight of stairs before my bro-in-law, Chris, caught him. We avoided that disaster, but Jackson was smacked down by a 3-year-old girl on his first birthday resulting in a loud crash of his head to pavement (which I thought resulted in a concussion- but it turned out was just the vomiting start of the stomach virus!)
We did love seeing the family, but voted for the next reunion to be in about 5 years (when our youngest will be 41/2!)The photo on the left is my parents, siblings and their spouses in white; all my nieces and nephews in red and blue.

At left is my parents with their 34(I think?) grandkids.

The photo on the left is my parents, me and my twelve siblings. (Just for fun- row 1 is Steven, Derek, John, David, Mike; row 2 is Ann, Cynthia, Dad, Mom, Teresa, Jana; row 3 is Sharon, the gorgeous Jess, Jeannie, and Kristen---- how many can you name???)

This ultrasound is from 7/14/08 (I was 12 weeks pregnant.) The baby looks nice and healthy and was quite hyper at the sonogram. The technician asked me what I ate for breakfast because she wouldn't stop moving. I bashfully answered, "Cinnamon rolls??" Woops, didn't mean to cause such a commotion in utero! You like the "she"? She looks like a girl, right? Let me dream, ok?

Diane's visit

Diane, Erik's Mom, (or as the kids call her, MiMi) came to visit for about 5 days and we had a ball! Trey immediately fell in love with her again and was very sad when she left.

We gave Jackson his very own cake to do with what he would for his (early) 1st birthday. He made quite a mess, but didn't eat nearly as much as we thought he would, given how much the kid likes to eat!!!

MiMi took Trey to the toy store and let him pick out whatever he wanted! Of course, he got a bright yellow Hummer (Erik is so jealous!) Trey hasn't quite gotten down the steering and gas pedal yet. (He has run into the fence once so far.)

Trey was very excited to make a pie when MiMi got here and gave her lots of help! He had to check on how it was doing in the frig every 5 minutes.

It has been so hot already this year that we have done lots of outdoor water activities. Trey showed Jackson how it was going to be in this photo.

Jackson loved playing with the little fountains at our friend's pool. He never gets real excited about anything though. Usually it is just a little smirk of a smile.
Latest Treyisms:
He asked me what telephone poles and wires were on the side of the road. I answered about how it carries sounds over the phone (even though it's not even true since all we have are cell phones.) He replied, "That's very tricky, Mama!"
I asked him to pick up his toys. He shouted, "You're ruining my life!" Later, I asked again and he said, "Gees, Louise! I'm doing it already!" Uh-oh, attitude on a 3 year old.
He saw a box by someone's trash and asked if it was for him (meaning a present.) I said no- it's just trash. He said "Oh- bumper!" (bummer)

Last weekend, I went to Fort Worth for my friend, Tara's bridal shower. We had a great time and can't wait for the wedding in August. (photo is Donna, Tara, me, and Mona)

I was trying to get a photo of the two boys, but one of them always is reluctant or has a funny face. They're still cute though!

Some friends were watching the boys for a few hours and she caught this great moment of Jackson chomping on a plastic hot dog. I love the face!!!! You think he likes to eat?

The Trial Run

Hello to all of my loved ones!
I am going to give this a whirl and see if I can at all keep up with blogging. It is a beautiful, windy day here and we are headed to Guido's house this afternoon for a get-together/ birthday celebration for Sal.

Trey celebrated his third birthday this week (Yikes- time flies!) by going bowling for the first time ever with his friends, Ohen (age 5) and Olivia (age 2). He got a 67 and 97- not bad for his first time out! He had lots of fun. Thanks to all of you who remembered him with phone calls, cards, and presents!
Trey also went to the dentist for the first time and was wonderful. The hygenist said she'd never seen a 3 year old cooperate so well on his first visit. It's nice to have such an amicable boy.

Jackson is just a funny little monkey. He loves food above all else (shock of all shocks looking at the rolls on the kid) and gets upset if someone is eating and he is not. Erik walked past him the other day purposely shaking up a bottle and Jackson ripped his pacifier out of his mouth and threw it across the room in anger! Erik and I cracked up and so Jackson roared with laughter too.
